In 2021 Milieudefensie (Friends of the Earth Netherlands) won the climate court case against Shell. A groundbreaking victory. The court ordered Shell to reduce its emissions by 45% in 2030 relative to 2019 levels. In January 2024 Milieudefensie announced a new climate court case against ING, the largest bank of  the Netherlands.

We aims to enforce, help and inspire legal practitioners, academics and activists all over the world in finding new creative (legal) strategies to achieve climate justice. Therefore we launched our Climate Case Tool.
