The climate summit's host country must uphold human rights

Later this year, the climate summit (COP 28) will take place in Dubai. Human rights in the United Arab Emirates are in a precarious state. Therefore, along with over 200 other organisations, Milieudefensie sent a letter to governments worldwide.

We are calling on governments to take immediate measures to improve the situation. Climate justice and human rights go hand in hand. The host country of the climate summit must respect human rights and allow space for protests.
