Does your organisation support our climate case against ING?

At the 19th of January 2024 Milieudefensie launched a climate case against the Dutch bank ING. Learn how your organisation can support this new groundbreaking climate case.

Why are we taking ING to court?

  • ING was responsible for at least 61 mega tonnes of greenhouse gases in one year. That's more than all of the emissions in Sweden combined.
  • ING finances polluting companies with more money than any other Dutch bank. For example, ING has supported the fossil fuel industry since the Paris Agreement with 83.2 billion euros through the issuance of bonds.
  • ING still finances companies that start new oil, gas, and coal projects

ING's current climate goals and policies fall short, and the bank continues to worsen the climate crisis. That is why Milieudefensie - with the support of thousands of people - is going to court.

What do we demand?

Milieudefensie demands that ING cuts his greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 and that ING stops collaborating with polluting  companies that put our future at risk. That's companies without a good  climate transition plan and fossil fuel companies that still expand  their projects.
