In March 2025 Milieudefensie started a climate case against the Dutch bank ING. Learn how your organisation can support this new groundbreaking climate case.

Why are we taking ING to court?

ING was responsible for at least 302 mega tonnes of greenhouse gases in 2025. That's over twice te emissions of the Netherlands.
ING finances polluting companies with more money than any other Dutch bank. For example, early 2026 ING 30 billion euros in outstanding loans to fossil fuel companies.
ING still finances companies that start new oil and gas projects.

ING's current climate goals and policies fall short, and the bank continues to worsen the climate crisis. That is why Milieudefensie - with the support of thousands of people - is going to court.

What do we demand?

Milieudefensie demands that ING reduces its greenhouse gases in line with science, and stops financing companies that still develop new oil and gas projects.

Milieudefensie invites all allies to fill-in the form below. The name of your organisation will then be published on the website of Milieudefensie, together with all other the organisations that expressed their support for this new climate against ING-bank.

The more allies, the stronger the message to ING: “stop financing the climate crisis!”
